THE FITTING — FIVE STEPS
Every cosmetic lip tattoo at our Melbourne studio starts the way a good fitting does: by looking closely at you. Your natural colour, your border, your history with pigment. Here’s how the process works, step by step, so you know what to expect before you book.
BORDER — DEFINED, NOT DRAWN
COLOUR — CHOSEN FOR YOUR TONE
01
STEP — OBSERVE
We start by looking, not deciding. We note your natural lip colour, how clearly your border shows against the surrounding skin, the symmetry between the upper and lower lip, and any areas that look paler, darker or uneven.
If you’ve had a lip tattoo before, we look closely at how it has healed. Earlier pigment changes what’s possible, and sometimes Lip Tattoo Correction or Lip Tattoo Removal is a better place to start than new colour.
02
STEP — DISCUSS
Cosmetic lip tattooing isn’t right for everyone, so we talk it through openly. We go over whether the treatment suits you, the possible risks, and the health and safety information you need before treatment, in line with Victorian public health requirements.
This is the time to ask anything, including about discomfort. We don’t offer lip fillers, injectables or medical treatment for lip conditions; for those, please see a qualified healthcare professional. You can read more in Safety, Suitability & Risks.
03
STEP — DECIDE
Next we choose a technique and a pigment together. That might be a soft Lip Blush Tattoo, a watercolour-style Aquarelle Lips finish, a defining Lip Liner Tattoo or something else from our services. Pigment is chosen for your skin tone and natural lip colour, not taken from a trend.
We explain what we’re aiming for and why. We won’t promise an exact healed shade, because results vary from person to person.
04
STEP — TREAT
Cosmetic lip tattooing is a skin-penetration procedure, so infection control runs through every part of the appointment. We work to the shape and colour we agreed on, at a steady pace, and check in with you as we go. Treatments are carried out in person at our Melbourne studio, by appointment.
05
STEP — HEAL AND REVIEW
Fresh pigment often looks brighter or darker than the final result. The healed colour develops gradually, so try not to judge your lips straight after treatment. Healing and pigment retention differ for everyone, and some treatments need another session to refine the colour or border.
Our Healing & Aftercare guide covers looking after your lips. Why Fresh Lip Colour Isn’t the Final Result explains the change in more detail.
QUOTE — FREE, BEFORE YOU COMMIT
Cost is one of the first things clients want to know, and it’s fair to ask. Because every treatment is personalised, we’d rather understand what you’re hoping for than give a figure that doesn’t fit you. Tell us a little about your lips and any previous tattoo when you get in touch, and ask us for a free quote.
