06 — DARK LIP NEUTRALISATION

Softening
darker lip tones.

Dark lip neutralisation is specialist cosmetic lip tattooing for lips that look darker or uneven in colour. We use carefully chosen pigment to help soften how those tones appear. It’s personalised, and we’re honest about its limits.

01

HOW IT WORKS

Colour placed to balance,
not to mask.

We don’t cover the lips with an opaque shade. Instead we place selected pigment into the skin to help soften the look of darker tones, so the lips can look more even and balanced. Pigment choice matters more here than in almost any other lip treatment. Your natural lip colour, your skin tone and any previous tattoo all affect which tones we consider. That’s why we start by looking closely at your lips, not at a colour chart.

Cosmetic lip tattooing is a skin-penetration procedure. It’s performed at our Melbourne studio by appointment, following infection-control practices. Right after treatment, the colour often looks brighter or darker than it will once healed, and the healed colour develops gradually. LIMITATIONS

What neutralisation
can't promise.

Being clear about these limits up front helps you decide whether this treatment is right for you.

LIMIT — OUTCOME

No guaranteed correction

Neutralisation aims to soften how darker tones look. We can’t promise a set amount of change or a particular final colour.

LIMIT — SCOPE

Cosmetic, not medical

This is a cosmetic tattoo treatment. It doesn’t treat pigmentation disorders, and we don’t claim any medical benefit.

LIMIT — HEALING

Results vary

Skin responds differently from person to person. We can’t guarantee healing or pigment retention, and you may need more than one session.

LIMIT — SUITABILITY

Not for everyone

Some lips and some health situations don’t suit this treatment. If we don’t think it’s right for you, we’ll tell you so.

03 — SUITABILITY & HEALTH

When to speak with
a healthcare professional first.

Lip colour can change for many reasons. If the darkness on your lips is new or changing, or if you have a lip condition, sores or any medical concern, please see a qualified healthcare professional before you consider cosmetic tattooing. We’re cosmetic tattoo specialists. We don’t diagnose skin or pigmentation conditions, and we don’t offer lip fillers, injectables or medical treatments.

Before any treatment, we give you the health and safety information required under Victorian public health regulations and talk through possible risks with you. For the full picture, read Safety, Suitability & Risks. If your concern is colour left by a previous lip tattoo, Lip Tattoo Correction or Lip Tattoo Removal may be the better place to start.

YOUR CONSULTATION

Start with a fitting,
not a decision.

At your consultation we look at your natural lip colour, border and symmetry, plus any previous tattoo. We talk through suitability and risks, then discuss pigment options before anything is decided. Our work is led by Olha Po, Founder & Certified Cosmetic Tattoo Artist, who has worked in cosmetic tattooing since 2016. See how each step works in The Fitting: Our Consultation Process.
