QUESTIONS — ANSWERED BEFORE YOU BOOK
Cosmetic lip tattooing is a considered decision, and good questions make it an easier one. Here are straightforward answers on cost, comfort, healing, how long pigment lasts, natural-looking colour and touch-ups, so you arrive at your consultation already knowing what matters.

01
PART — BEFORE YOU BOOK
Cost depends on the treatment and on your lips: a soft lip blush, a fuller lipstick effect and a correction of previous work are very different pieces of work. Rather than publish a one-size figure, we offer a free quote once we understand what you’re hoping for. The simplest way to start is to book a consultation.
Not everyone is a suitable candidate, and that’s something we talk through openly. Before any treatment we go over your health information, suitability and the possible risks, in line with Victorian public health requirements. Our guide to safety, suitability and risks is a good place to read first.
Start with what bothers you, not the technique name. Pale lips often point towards Lip Blush Tattoo, an undefined border towards Lip Liner Tattoo, and darker or uneven pigmentation towards Dark Lip Neutralisation. We recommend a technique after looking at your natural colour, border and symmetry. You can also browse all our treatments.
02
PART — ON THE DAY
QUESTION — DISCOMFORT
We won’t tell you it’s painless, because it isn’t for everyone. Lips are sensitive and people experience treatment differently. Talk to us about any concerns at your consultation, and we’ll explain what the treatment involves so nothing on the day comes as a surprise.
QUESTION — HYGIENE
Cosmetic lip tattooing is a skin-penetration procedure, so infection control is a basic part of how we work, not an extra. We follow applicable Victorian public health requirements and give you the required health and safety information before treatment begins.
03 — AFTER TREATMENT
Healing is personal, so we don’t promise a fixed timeframe. Your lips will look different in the first days than they will once settled. Follow the aftercare guidance you’re given, and read our Healing & Aftercare guide for what to expect in general terms.
Fresh pigment often looks brighter or darker than the final result. The healed colour develops gradually, which is why we never judge a lip tattoo on the day it’s done. There’s more on this in why fresh lip colour isn’t the final result.
It varies from person to person, and pigment retention can’t be guaranteed. A lip tattoo isn’t permanent forever, and how it holds depends on your skin and how it heals.
Possibly. Some treatments need an additional session once your lips have healed and we can review the colour together. We can’t promise how many sessions you’ll need, but we’ll be clear about what we see.
03
FRESH — BRIGHTER OR DARKER
HEALED — DEVELOPS GRADUALLY
RETENTION — VARIES BY CLIENT
TONE — MUTED, NATURAL-LOOKING
04 — RESULTS
A natural-looking result is our focus. Pigment is chosen for your skin tone and natural lip colour, and the border is defined to suit your features rather than drawn from a template. Results still vary between individuals, so we discuss what’s realistic for your lips before deciding anything.
Often we can help, but correction has real limits. Lip Tattoo Correction and Lip Tattoo Removal may need more than one session, and complete removal can’t be promised. The same honesty applies to Dark Lip Neutralisation: it can’t guarantee correction of pigmentation. You can view examples in our portfolio, keeping in mind that every client’s result is their own.
05
PART — WHAT WE DON’T OFFER
No. Our work is cosmetic lip tattooing only. We don’t offer lip fillers, injectable treatments, surgical lip augmentation or medical treatment for lip conditions. If you’re considering any of these, or you have a concern about a lip condition, please speak with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Our work is led by Olha Po, Founder & Certified Cosmetic Tattoo Artist, who has worked professionally in cosmetic tattooing since 2016. Read more about Lip Tattoo and Olha Po, or see how our consultation process works step by step.
