SERVICE 17 — WHY WE START HERE

Especially
lip blush.

Of all the cosmetic lip tattooing we do, lip blush is the treatment we put first. It’s personalised lip pigmentation that enhances the colour you already have, improves definition and creates a soft, balanced look. For many clients with pale, uneven or faded lip colour, it’s the most natural place to begin. This page explains why, and how to tell whether it suits you.

FIT — WHICH TREATMENT, FOR WHICH CONCERN

When lip blush is
the right starting point.

Clients usually come to us describing a concern, not a technique. Here’s how lip blush compares with two neighbouring treatments.

CONCERN — PALE OR UNEVEN COLOUR

Lip Blush Tattoo

A soft wash of colour across the whole lip with gentle definition at the border. Best if you want your lips to look like yours, only more even and a little more defined.

CONCERN — UNDEFINED BORDER

Lip Liner Tattoo

Pigment focused on the edge of your natural line. Best if your colour feels fine but the shape fades into the surrounding skin.

CONCERN — DAILY LIPSTICK

Lipstick Effect Tattoo

A fuller, more saturated colour. Best if you’d like to rely less on lipstick and prefer a more noticeable finish than blush gives.

FITTING — WHAT WE DECIDE TOGETHER

Four decisions,
made with you.

Colour. We choose pigment to suit your skin tone and natural lip colour, rather than matching a shade from a photo.

Intensity. Lip blush can be kept very sheer or built a little deeper. We talk through how you wear colour now.

Border. We look at your natural line and symmetry, and decide how much definition looks balanced on your face.

Suitability. Lip tattooing is a skin-penetration procedure. Before any treatment we go through health information, possible risks and infection control, in line with Victorian requirements. If something suggests lip blush isn’t right for you, we’ll tell you.

QUESTIONS — BEFORE YOU BOOK

What clients
ask about
lip blush.

More answers in our lip tattoo FAQs.

Will the colour look natural?

That’s the aim of lip blush. Keep in mind that fresh pigment often looks brighter or darker than the final result, and the healed colour develops gradually. Judge it once healed, not on the day.

Will I need a touch-up?

Some clients do. Results vary between individuals, healing and pigment retention can’t be guaranteed, and an additional session may be needed. We review your healed colour with you.

Does it hurt, and what does it cost?

Sensation differs from person to person, and we’ll explain what to expect at your consultation. Pricing depends on your treatment plan, so we start with a free quote.
